[GCARC] Mobile radio suggestions

Black Friday and Cyber Monday did it's intended damage on me.  I'm now
thinking about a mobile for the car.  I was looking at the Yaesu FT-8900
which is hard to come by currently.  I was dazzled by the cheap Chinese
radios on Amazon until I read the reviews.  Seems the prudent course is the
more expensive one.  Then I started to wonder if a quad band is the way to
go.  What do you think?  What is an appropriate mobile radio for our area?
I'm not in the position to spend a lot.  Please keep that in mind when
suggesting a radio.
