The presentation at Wednesday’s meeting will be “What Is Field Day?” by Jim Wright N2GXJ. Jim will cover the basics of Field Day operations and rules including some new requirements that may not be familiar to some hams. Jim’s presentations are always excellent so hopefully the in-person and online turnout will be strong. A Zoom link will be sent to all members before the meeting.

Pizza night will be at the July meeting. There will be no presentation at that meeting to allow time for more pizza-eating and in-person rag-chewing. Unfortunately Zoom participants will have to provide their own pizza.

Tech Saturday is this Saturday. Time in the morning has been allocated to anyone wanting to prepare for Field Day and to plan their operation positions. The usual Saturday clubhouse team will be there working on various projects including the VHF room, so come mid-morning if you’d like to see what’s happening. Chris AD2CS is frequently helping someone with HT programming or some other technical issue, so that’s a good time to drop down to the clubhouse and get some help.

The ARRL Digital Contest is also on Saturday starting at 1400 EDT so we’ll be running an “Intro to Digital HF Operation” session beginning at noon. If you’ve had issues getting FT-8 or some other digital mode working come on down and see how it’s done on the Clubhouse IC-7300. Once the contest starts we’ll be operating for a couple of hours to get used to FT-8 operation on busy frequencies.
