[GCARC] 10 Meter

Hello all,

Wanted to take a minute to share my day.
 A few years ago I was given a 10 meter rig by Ed  N2RO
A Realistic HTX-100. I recently purchased a tower to put up in the next few
weeks.
I had a 10 meter antenna I never put together until a few days ago that
will be going on the tower as well. I did a temporary set up in the
backyard just to try it

After tuning the antenna to the 10 meter band, I went into the shack and
turned the radio on.
After a very short time of scanning the radio stopped at 28.440.0 to a very
clear voice S-9 on the meter. After listening for a short time I put out my
call sign and received a return from PJ2/W4ATL
from Curacao Island. Needless to say, I was both happy and surprised at the
same time.
I attached a picture they sent from their shack overlooking  a sunny beach.
