To my long term GCARC friends and those friends I haven't met yet,

The Hamfest is only 2 weeks away. I encourage everyone to attend,
especially new members and those who haven't been to our event in the past.
Last year, we had 500+ attendees and more than 70 vendors. There were
almost 40 GCARC members who volunteered. It's a great event which offers a
wonderful opportunity to see, touch and feel hundreds of ham radio products.
We also offer one hour ARRL approved forum presentations on emerging
technology, station safety and ARRL updates directly from ARRL
representatives. It's also an "all hands on deck" event because proceeds
from the Hamfest provide critical $$ for club operations and programs. So,
we need volunteers! Right now there are volunteer openings for parking
attendants, gate team and the Saturday night setup crew. Volunteering is a
great opportunity to meet and work directly with other GCARG members you may
not have met yet. It also provides opportunities to seek out advice and
learn about other GCARC fun activities you might like to pursue. Fox hunt?
Tech Saturday? Field day? Clubhouse operating? These are just a few areas
where other GCARC members can help. So, what do you say? If you would like
to volunteer, please send me an email. Volunteers get free entry!

Sheldon, k2men
