[GCARC] Tech Saturday is this Saturday

This Saturday is Tech Saturday at the GCARC Clubhouse beginning at 9 AM. There’s no planned presentation but we’ll be working on a few projects that may be of interest.  We’ve upgraded the sound processor for the VARA-FM gateway and digipeater on 441.050 and will be trying out various configurations of HT and mobile rigs along with a mini-PC as the computer. We’ll also probably continue to experiment with VARA-HF using various antennas.

In addition the satellite antennas have been reoriented properly and there are several good satellite passes that morning so if you’re interested in seeing how ham satellite communications works this will be a good opportunity.

Finally – the new HF tower has been mounted to the tower base and is awaiting some specialized tools for its continued installation. If you haven’t seen the new tower come check it out.

The Clubhouse is located on the grounds of the Gloucester County 4H Fairgrounds at 235 Bridgeton Pike (Rt 77) in Mullica Hill. Talk-in is on the GCARC repeater on 147.18.
