Subject: Philly Swap Net on Zoom - Tuesday at 7:30 pm

To all Hams in the Delaware Valley,

We are planning to run 2 more Swap Nets; Tomorrow night May 18th, then June 1st, the first Tuesday in June. Paul and I will then take a break during the Summer months. With the RF Hill hamfest on hold again this year, we plan to pickup the Zoom meetings in October. FYI; We now know that both Kimberton on Saturday July 17th and Mullica Hill on Sunday September 12th "are scheduled for 2021".

The Zoom "Swap Net" is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm on the First and Third Tuesday evenings of the month. See link at the bottom of this email.

Before the Zoom meeting tomorrow night, let me share a few items that I have not found the time to take pics and get up on the PWA "For Sale" page. Glenn (KC3INP) has an almost new Icom 2m mobile, the IC-2300. Another PWA member has a Kenwood 2m mobile the TM-281. The Kenwood was a door prize at one of our holiday dinners a couple of years back and has never been out of the box. Either one, $100. Digging through the estate stuff, I found a couple of Heathkit indoor/outdoor digital thermometers and another box with the temp probes. No idea if they are working. We also have two smaller Variacs (maybe 2 amp) already mounted in Bud boxes with cord and plug. The on/off switch is 3 position with center off. My guess is this operates the zero to line voltage in one position -- zero to maybe 135 volts in the other position.

Then there's the box in my attic from my father's collection; maybe 10 rolls of resistance wire probably came from IRC down on Broad Street when they moved operations down to Boone, NC. Each spool is marked resistance per foot. Let me know your needs... Free.

Look on the PWA "For Sale" page. Note, if you see non-amateur radio advertising up there go to the last page and view them backwards. We occasionally have a spammer on the For Sale pages.

I ask everyone to take a full sheet of paper - 8-1/2 x 11 - and write your first name, call sign and either your email address or a phone number. Please show it to us, when you display your equipment. This will allow interested parties to contact you off the Zoom meeting.

I will go over the rules we have used for the PWA "on the air" Swap Net.

1; No more than 3 items per person / per night. There's always next week to bring up 3 more.

1a; Estates may show up to 6 items per night.

2; No up front costs. If your item does sell ?? then the seller will make a donation to the club.

3; As per Fcc rules, no haggling on Zoom. Mention the asking price and haggle on the phone.

4; Make up a quickie email listing your items for that week. Nothing long and drawn out. Just the 3 items and be prepared to send it to anyone who asks... not only people on the PWA email list.

5; No number 5, four is enough.

Thank you to Steve (KB3ORG - PWA President) for allowing us to use his paid Zoom account so we don't run up against the 40 minute time-out.
