Greetings All,
I am thankful and encouraged by the fantastic response to my plea for
volunteers to join the HF Station Grounding Task Force. We now have a full
team of eight volunteers plus a technical advisor for the project. It would
probably be best NOT to do both the VHF and HF rooms at the same time, due
to the fact that each room needs to be emptied out in order to do the work.
There would also be a problem with too many people in the club house at one
time. If we need to limit the number of people, we have enough people that
we could have half the group in on a Saturday, and the other half on a
Sunday, if need be. I will leave it up to the group to decide how to divvy
it up. Ideally, the work would start on the HF station immediately
following the completion of the work on the VHF station, but prior to any
of the outside work starting. Here is the team so far:
John Hill, W2HUV - Technical Advisor
Dan McCormick, KD2US
Robin Herrmann, KD2LSH
Holden Correia-Fisher, KD2JPV
Jim Quarella, KD2QYE
Len Rust, W2LJR
Sheldon Parker, K2MEN
Gary Hewitt, N2WHV
Jeff Garth, WB2ZBN
If anyone else is interested in signing up, just shoot me an email. It is
good to have more people than we actually need because not everyone will be
able to show up all the time. We will put together a team mailing list to
keep everyone up to date on the planning and scheduling. Hopefully we can
get all of this inside work knocked out before springtime, so that when the
weather breaks we can move right into the outside phase of the project.
Thanks to all who volunteered to help, and thanks for keeping GCARC the
great club that it is.
