[GCARC] Repeater Noise, Possible Spur?

Vinnie N4NYY, I have not observed this problem at my QTH in the "historic"
part of Swedesboro.
Since your problem seems to be limited to the output frequency of W2MMD/R,
and not other frequencies, have you considered the possibility that a spur
may be coming from one of the large communications towers that are close to
your QTH?
One tower is on Auburn Road just South of Center Square Road and another
giant tower is just off Vestry road.
Both of these towers are much closer to you than to me.
I will start listening for QRM on the repeater output frequency when I pass
thru your part of town (e.g. when I go to the CVS or Woolwich Municipal
Building).
Perhaps we could use 2M foxhunting equipment to check for a spur (or
intermodulation product) on or near 147.180 MHz.

Subject: [GCARC] Repeater issues

Well, all of a sudden without me doing anything, the repeater is now coming
in clear enough to hear the Sunday nets.

I went from hearing full quieting, to total static, and now to audible with
some noise. There also seems to be some sort of hunting noise (like an
engine hunting idling up and down).

Through troubleshooting, I ruled out my radio and antenna (antenna is in the
attic). Which left the coax. However all of a sudden without me trying
anything, the signal improved to audible.

So, I am pretty convinced that there is a problem with the repeater and/or
antenna. I have no issues with any other repeater. Note, I am farther south
that most people, in Southern Woolwich, near the Salem County line. I also
have zero QRM everywhere.
