The International Space Station will be broadcasting SSTV images between December 26 at 1825Z and December 30 at 1705Z. Many GCARC members have received those images on HTs or SDR radios and have been able to decode them. If you’re interested in trying that you can use the https://heavens-above.com/ website to see when the passes will be over our location.
The GCARC digital net has been training how to decode SSTV images but if you’re not familiar with that process Chris AD2CS will be at the Clubhouse on Saturday December 18 around 10 AM to review it. Bring your radio and laptop – he’ll transmit some images to test your process.
Also – if there are daytime passes that look particularly good I might go down to the clubhouse to receive them live even though our SatNOGS system will automatically record them. If you’re interested in watching email me (wb2mnf at arrl.net) and I’ll let you know when I’ll be there.
