All,

This Wednesday night is our monthly Board of Directors Meeting @ 1900 Hours
on ZOOM. Normally, all members were welcome to attend the BoD meeting when
it was held at the Clubhouse, but because it is on ZOOM, only the officers
are sent the ZOOM log-on instructions. If you would like to attend the ZOOM
BoD meeting, please contact Chuck WA2TML (colabrese @ comcast.net) for the
ZOOM meeting log-on instructions.

 

Friday, November 20, 2020 is the deadline for articles for the December 2020
CrossTalk. Thank God this year is almost over!

 

If anyone has any ideas for programs at the monthly General Membership
Meeting, either via ZOOM or in-person (hopefully sometime in 2021), please
contact Jeff Welsh KD2AZI (radioartistry at gmail.com) with your ideas and
suggestions. This also can work for Tech Saturday programs. And this
includes anyone who would like to give a presentation at either the General
Meeting and/or Tech Saturday.

 

Just a thought, why can’t we have a ZOOM Tech Saturday! I can bring the
virtual coffee and cookies and someone else can bring the virtual doughnuts.
Think about it!

 

Monday night is the weekly 10M Rag Chew Net on 28.465 MHz @ 2000 Hours.

 

Thursday night is the weekly 2M Rag Chew Net on the 147.180 MHz repeater and
EchoLink W2MMD-R @ 2000 Hours.

 

A BIG thank you to our VP Tony Starr K3TS for running the CW training class.
Tony did a great job educating the students about the little secrets and
shorthand CW ops use.  Who knew that telegraphers and hams were the original
texters. Eat that kids! Hams invented texting, not you!

 

Going into the training, the only morse code I knew was SOS, so now I know
about ¾ of the alphabet and most of the numbers. I am not ready to send on
the air yet. I am going to start the CWops Morse Code Trainer all over again
and keep practicing until I can comfortably send and receive.

 

Hopefully I will be ready by Field Day and offer some competition to Sheldon
K2MEN, HIHI!
