Hello Jim and the Group,

Just wanted you to know that I sent up recommendations from your club, SJRA, and OBARC. Bart Janke from ARRL HQs wrote back thanking everyone for the suggestions but they were going to wait before making any decisions. But shortly after that they came out saying no changes. This is the debate going on across the country. So you are not alone in thinking things should be adjusted.

Let me know if I can help out with anymore information

I asked Tom to bring to the ARRl, that if they lifted the 1000 foot rule and the emergency power requirement and let us operate form home under the club call, we could still operate 6A or 7A and the competition would remain the same. Tom, thought it was a good idea and informed me that he would take it to the ARRL, and the rest is history.

Anyway, it got worse from there, with him saying or accusing that basically only clubs concerned with scoring, are they only ones that want to work that way. After that, I had enough and finally let him have it.

That includes customers I met at HRO, hamfest attendees, the nutcases on on the air like 2M, 40M, and 80M, and other unruly hams. That is how bad an impression he made on me. It's scary to think that this guy is the ARRL regulatory person.

It will either be Plan A, the limited Field Day at the clubhouse site, or, Plan C, we are all working from home as "echo" under our own call sign. This will be determined by the board on June 10. Of course, we should probably see what the Police will allow before the board makes their decision. The Police my very well make the decision for the club.
