[GCARC] FW: K2AA is operating the Pandemic Class 7E - Extended area operations

Remote stations in an emergency were a joke. In Hurricane Katrina, there as no infrastructure left, no cell or any internet. So remotes were not working. They have their heads up their ass.

To add fuel to the argument, the advice given about remote operation is broken as well. The ARRL has said previously that any laptop/computer is part of the radio equipment, and must be in that 1000ft diameter. This had come up in past with advent of SDR and people wanting to set up field day antenna in one place, and use it from another. Not within the rules to set up antenna in one place and use it over internet from outside the field day circle.

Vinnie,

Yes, they surely do! I had let my ARRL membership expire years ago, and
every time I would think about re-applying for membership, they would do
something to seriously piss me off. This went on for about five years,
until a couple of weeks ago, when I realized that it had been a while since
they pissed me off. So I signed up again, for a two year membership.
Before I even got my first issue of QST, they have managed to piss me off
twice in two weeks! Serves me right for being gullible, I got what I
deserved. But at least now I can bitch at them again!
