Cooped up and looking for something to do at 8:11pm today?
If it is not cloudy, there is a visible pass of the international space
station tonight, here in Southern NJ.
At 8:11pm, Face north.
Then extend your arm. From your left (West), around 8:11pm tonight, a
bright dot should come up from the horizon, and start to arc across the
sky.
2 minutes later, it should pass near Venus (very bright not moving dot,
easy to see if not cloudy).
In another minute, 8:14pm, it should be almost straight forward from you,
about half way up between the ground and straight overhead.
By 8:17, the show ends as the ISS enters the Earth's shadow in the
North-East as it continues on its orbit around the globe.
I'll be on my HT at the time, if anyone wants to report in on our 2 meter
repeater during the pass.
Good luck! Enjoy!
"See" you on the radio,
Jim W, n2gxj
