Subject: Coronavirus Pandemic
There has been a lot information in the media and locally in Southern New Jersey about the Coronavirus Pandemic.
I am recommending that all Southern New Jersey clubs consider cancelling meetings for the remainder of March through April.
Later in April we can decide as to resuming normal meetings and activities. Many of our members are in the age bracket that has been named as at serious risk. Even those of us in good health face a threat.
We have never faced as serious a problem as this. Many counties are closing schools, meeting rooms and limiting access to public areas.
You already know the actions President Trump is taking.
I’m asking that clubs gather on repeaters and talk. At this time no communications support has been requested anywhere in Southern New Jersey.. Please remain ready. If it becomes necessary, we will activate specific areas through ARES. If you are an ARES member make sure your contact information is up to date.
Use this as an excuse to get on the air. Get that 2M/70CM gear working and talk with each other.
This situation is temporary. It’s not the End of The World and things will return to normal as soon as possible.
For now, stay safe, be healthy and follow the CDC guidelines.
73,
