[GCARC] SSTV from ISS

If you're interested in receiving ISS passes it's useful to set up an account on the Heavens Above website (https://www.heavens-above.com/). That will maintain your location and timezone and let you check out upcoming ISS passes as well as other satellites. The AMSAT website notes that the ISS will be active on Jan 30 from 13:30 to 1900 UTC, which is 0830 to 1400 EST. Heavens Above shows only a grazing pass (20 degree elevation) during those times. No passes appear visible for Jan 31. (Someone may want to check my math - I'm occasionally dyslexic on stuff like this).
Often the Russians will only send SSTV when the ISS is over Russia. This appears to be one of those cases. Currently the Americans don't have SSTV capabilities. That will change when the new radio that the ARISS guys built is installed at the ISS. It's been delivered to NASA but I don't know when it's scheduled to be launched.

All,
The ISS will be sending SSTV images on January 30 and 31, 2020. I don't know if we will be able to receive them, but I am sure the SkunkWorks Team will have more information. As seen on www.amsat-uk.org.
Thanks
