[GCARC] Solar eclipse as seen by the GOES 16 satellite

Here's another one from the GOES station. Yesterday there was a solar eclipse in the southern hemisphere which we all know blocks out the sun as the moon travels in front of it. I saw a report showing NASA footage from the GOES satellite and wanted to see if we could get the same video from the images that we continually download from GOES16 satellite at the clubhouse station. So I downloaded all of the images from yesterday (48 of them - they're taken every half-hour) and viewed each one until I could see the start of the eclipse. I took the next few images and dumped them into an online video-maker and came up with the video below. Watch the black spot crossing South America - that's the eclipse. Another reason why ham radio is such a cool hobby!
