TLDR: I need someone to solder PL259s on the coax leading to my AH-4 tuner.
I'm willing to pay (paypal, venmo, check - whatever. unable to get cash!).
For two ends, I think $50 + supplies is a good start, but I have no idea.
If you don't want payment, I'll donate whatever the reasonable cost would
be to the GCARC. Is this an OK question to ask?
Long story:
My AH-4 tuner has been failing to tune from time to time, and I think I've
narrowed it down to bad coax or bad PL259s. I tried replacing the coax with
brand new, but I learned I really, really suck at soldering (especially
outside), and now i'm off the air on HF.
Here's the request: I'll pay you for your time to replace any suspect PL259
ends on my HF run. This will probably be two ends. I am fairly certain the
coax running from my demarc box to my shack is OK.
Complication: due to an health condition, it's been recommended i
not interact closely with folks outside of my house. (Now you can see why I
want to get back on the air!)
Yes, this is a skill I want to learn, but I know it takes time and
practice, and I want this part to be done by someone who's seen all the
mistakes before. I'm in Haddon Township, NJ.
Can you help me? Thanks!
