[GCARC] remembering Paul Callaghan WB2WAK

Hello all,
I read with sadness in Crosstalk of the passing of Paul Callaghan , formerly WB2WAK. Just wanted to add a few pleasant memories of Paul from the mid-60s. I'm 68 now and passed my novice in May 1967, 53 years ago in my freshman year of high school in Williamstown, receiving the call WN2BVV. Paul was the biology teacher that year, and once a week all students selected a club to participate in. Paul sponsored the Amateur Radio Club, and in May 1967, four of us passed our novice license test. Paul introduced me to GCARC and I became a member that fall. I would likely not be in ham radio now if it were not for the efforts of Paul to form and advise the weekly amateur radio club at Williamstown High. As I recall, he left shortly after that school year to pursue a career in medical sales.
I reconnected with Paul about 5 years ago, and exchanged several pleasant emails with him. He was doing well, and enjoying retirement, and asked about several of the members he remembered from back in the '60s.
