The GCARC satellite station participates in the SatNOGS network, which allows users throughout the world to record transmissions from satellites and the ISS using participating stations. The audio is maintained on a SatNOGS server and can be downloaded and processed locally by interested users. It’s primarily used for telemetry but also can record SSTV, WeFax and most other signals originating from space. Last week the W2MMD satellite station was used to record a live QSO between an ISS astronaut and a ham ground station, allowing students to talk to the astronaut. I extracted and processed the audio – you can listed to it at this link: https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApbrAotXoVehpi-ftPYTEil6OBJB We can only hear the astronaut side of the QSO, but it’s still pretty cool. The original SatNOGS record is here: https://network.satnogs.org/observations/322088/
