At tomorrow’s Tech Saturday session we’ll be covering how to use the SDR satellite setup at the W2MMD station. We’ll try to start promptly at 9 since there’s a NOAA-18 weather fax satellite pass at 9:15 that will give a good example of how the antenna tracking and Doppler correction work. There are some low-elevation ham satellite passes in the morning, but better passes between around 11 and 2, so if you can hang around after the Tech session or come later in the AM you should be able to see some interesting satellite work. If you can’t come tomorrow but are still interested in satellites, take a look at the W2MMD satellite blog at http://w2mmdsatellite.blogspot.com/. I’ll post tomorrow’s PowerPoint presentation there, plus there’s a lot of other info that’s been compiled from the first month of working with this station.
