Jeff,

Feel free to pass this info re Gordon Kittle's estate to club members.

Gordon lived in Norristown, PA and left an unbelievable collection of ham stuff!

Feel free to edit.

73,

Wayne - WA2LET

I am sending this message to literally everyone on my e-mail contacts that I either recognized who they were on a personal level or were able to ascertain from their address that they were a ham radio operator. If this is spam to you, I will not be sending anything else your way after this.

My father, Gordon Kittel, died in December 2016. I have been holding onto the house, VERY gradually cleaning it out, so that I can properly find a home for all of his assets -- particularly those belonging to his hobbies and especially ham radio -- before hauling things off to the dumpster.

However, the time for the dumpster has arrived.

I am, therefore, putting out one final plea to anyone who wants to salvage items from my father's house to come now. Items in the house generally fall into one of two categories -- the basement, and not-the-basement.

The basement is mostly scrap and hobbyist items. My father was a tinker, an amateur radio operator, a model railroad enthusiast, and a man who believed in having supplies ready for everything. Although the basement is partially cleaned out, it's still the most overloaded part of the house thanks to the plethora of vacuum tubes, wiring, hardware, old electronics, tools, meters, and whatever else Dad had.

If this is your persuasion, I've taken two videos of me wandering the house earlier today. The first is the basement. The second is an extremely brisk tour of the ham and railroad items that I still have located outside the basement.

"Not-the-basement" refers to the overall house. Because I have made many thrift store runs and disposed of a decent amount of items initially, most of the remaining items are either objects of some value and/or furniture that I couldn't carry off in the van. Old-fashioned chairs, china, lots of shelves and filing cabinets, household decorations, Franklin Mint collectibles (not depicted), and more.

I acknowledge the videos are of a very amateur quality. They are not a very exhaustive effort of chronicling each item, and the commentary is terrible. However, they should give some indication of what items are available. Some of the household items will be staying, and a modest collection of tools. Select other pieces I will be retaining to sell properly. Beyond that, I want it all gone. I am not concerned with donation slips, and I am not looking for much or perhaps anything in the way of compensation. If you decide to collect some items just to take to a scrap dealer, that is your business. My primary goals are to minimize the clean-out effort and reduce the volume of waste generated when I finally carry everything out. If you see anything you either would like, or want to know more about, please contact me at this e-mail address or at 610-574-6729. Act quickly -- it might all be gone by this time next week.

Thank you for your patience and tolerance, especially those of you who have received numerous other notifications in the past from me or from the people who have been helping me sell off the radio assets.

Sincerely,

Stephen Kittel
