[GCARC] ARRLa Presidents message/AB2E response

Would like to ad that several major changes to ARS have created in part affect a reason I have no station on the air for many years and they are: the destruction of call signs from W and K calls to anything and everything making it impossible to know a USA station, the destruction of the 10 call districts so we know immediately the zone in the USA where the station is located, elimination of Morse code for license requirements. grs

Hi Urb,
I have to disagree with you.
I found the email and ARRL website posting to be both
condescending and dismissive of its members, and totally sidestepping the
issues brought forth by a number of major clubs, most of
which have never sent letters to ARRL leadership in their
90+ year history as a club.

The ARRL BOD and management have been silencing any and
all dissension. Witness the censure of famed dxer N6AA
Dick, as well as the as yet unexplained disqualification
of K3RF who was running for director (despite his requests
to ARRL, he has yet to receive an adequate explanation.
There are more examples than just these, if you look at
the www.myARRLvoice.org<http://www.myARRLvoice.org> website (this and other relevant

info was posted on the GCARC website).

If ARRL has indeed had such a lack of transparency in its
administration for 100 years, then it's time for them look
at what the membership wants and shift their position.

What is transparency? GCARC is a perfect example. We
discuss new business at the general meeting. Everything to
be considered is available for examination and/or
discussion by the general membership. I don't believe it
has changed, but at GCARC Board of Directors meetings, all
members are welcome. As someone said, "He who has nothing
to hide, hides nothing."

So I urge GCARC members to peruse the material posted at
the club website, go to the myARRLvoice website, and those who haven't yet done so, send
a letter to the ARRL (there is a template there, to which
you may add your own material or delete and use all of
your own writing).

73 and let's hope the ARRL chooses a path of transparency
and ethical behavior as they consider changes behind closed doors at their next BOD meeting this weekend,

.
