Here is the breakdown.

There is no fee to send money to friends or family when paying directly from your bank account.

There is a fee for sending money via debit or credit card.

There is no fee for receiving money from friends or family when they are sending money to you via bank account.

There is no fee for buying goods or services.

There is a fee for receiving money for buying goods or services (this is where GCARC fits)

Personally, I have a separate bank account for my Paypal, so if I ever get hacked, there is the minimum balance in there. I have never tied it to my main checking or savings. It is an entirely different bank.

Most online retailers take Paypal. Home Depot takes it at the store. HRO takes it, and of course eBay. I have been using it since about 1999 or 2000, and it is great and convenient.

Great move by the club.

I would suspect that PayPal would have no choice BUT to charge a fee,
since PayPal charges my American Express card, and there would probably
be a fee on top of a fee lol. I'm sure PayPal would not absorb that just
out of the kindness of their heart(s) lol. But then again, who am I to
make that determination... I may be all wet here (& cold).
