You are probably better off with a LDG Z11proII. It does list a cable for the 891 to interface with. Otherwise, you have to whistle or talk to auto tune with just a coax jumper. It is a max of 125 W, so I don't know if the 480 has too much power.

The Yaesu does offer a mobile auto tuner, but not sure if it compatible with the 891. Also, it is ridiculous high price at nearly $300

If you need more info, call Ken at HRO and tell him I sent you.

Does anyone have experience with either the Kenwood TS480SAT or Yaesu FT891
with its companion tuner? My Kenwood TS50 and its tuner work flawlessly, but
I'll be looking to sell it. I like the idea of removable front panels. I
also like the idea of the tuner being close to the antenna at the rear of
the vehicle. There's not much info on the web regarding the use of longer
interconnect cables between the Yaesu and its dedicated tuner. The same goes
for how long the front panel cable can be. Any info on these matters is very
welcome. Thanks and have a nice new year.

Ken
