I am in the process of downsizing the shack/shop/lab/office. I have an
older server that is functional but I have neither the need nor space for
it. I am offering it free of charge to any club member that would like to
own it.

Please read the specs below, particularly the size and weight.
Get out a tape measure or ruler and measure the space where you plan on
putting the server.
Go back and re-read the specs below, paying particular attention to the
size and weight.
Consult with your XYL or other stakeholder etc. with regard to the
above-mentioned specs.
If, after completing the above steps you are still interested, email me and
I can bring it to the club meeting on Wednesday.

The previous paragraph is necessary because of the size and weight of the
server. While this is not the largest piece of equipment that I own, I have
no desire to put it in my truck and drive it to the meeting, only to bring
it home again. Although it probably goes without saying, there are no
returns, even if you tell me it means you may end up in a divorce (because
if this leaves my house and then reappears, it will mean mine hi).

There is a large amount of information online for this unit.

Specs
Compaq ML530 Server (tower)
I believe this has dual Pentium III 1 GHz XEON processors, 3 GB of memory,
and (3) 36.4 GB hard drives.
It was last used by my nephews as a Minecraft server and it likely has some
flavor of Linux installed.
Dimensions (H x W x D) 20 x 12.8 x 26.5 in / 50.8 x 32.5 x 67.3 cm
Weight (with no hard drives installed, one power supply) 100 lb / 45.36 kg

The unit does have wheels/casters. (It could double as an end table hi.) I
do have a few pictures, but I think the reflector would strip them out of
the email.

Finally, this is being offered free to the first person that confirms that
they want this and can be at the meeting on Wednesday.

Best regards,
Harry
