I have been ill the last few weeks. That stomach virus hit me pretty hard. I missed
the Christmas Dinner and hoped you all had a good time. Even though I have
been ill I have proceeded with contacting the local scouting organizations. This
brings me to reason for this email.

We had a successful trip to the boy scout camporee, where we we got to talk
to the scouts and demonstrated what ham radio is all about. From that trip
we were approached to see if we would be interested in helping them
we the Radio Merit Badge. I wonder if we have a member or two who will
help the boys earn that Merit Badge.

I have also been in touch with the Girl Scouts. There is a lot of interest there
as well. There is a Merit Badge that they have as well that they can earn.
They are in interested in obtaining the Tech License. We can help them do
both if we can find some volunteers. Below is the website for the ARRL
patch.

We are looking for some volunteers for this program as well. Because
of our hamfest I was not able to schedule this in the past. They have
a six month calendar that they put out with dates on it. We need to
schedule dates to help them out as well.

If you are interested in helping with the Boy Scouts and or the
Girl Scouts please let me know. I would like to get a committee
together to help with this program.

REMEMBER THE YOUNG PEOPLE ARE OUR FUTURE.
