A quick update; only 26 hours until field day goes live across all of North
America!

Wayne Wilson, our "field day master chef", reports that he and Pink have
just returned from "field day" shopping. He's requesting donations of
cookies, cakes, other dessert goodies, munchies, if you can bring them, to
help tide over the night shift operators. Ken's xyl Martha is providing
macaroni salad and Jim's xyl Donna is providing potato salad. Food items
can be brought directly to him in the kitchen area on Saturday afternoon.

Stations may begin setup today, if they wish. Locations on field to be
assigned and coordinated by field day chairman, Al kb2ayu.

Bart Conrad, our "public relations table" specialist, reports that Gary
Triplo has volunteered to bring his Yaesu 857 rig to set up at the
information booth to use as a public-facing 2m, 440 "bonus VHF" station, or
as a "GOTA" station if a volunteer does not step forward to set up an HF
one. Thank you guys! Bart - let us know if you need help with a sign the
many passers-by from the circus event to advertise what we're doing in the
fields there tomorrow and Sunday.

Ray Martin arranged for utility mark outs, so we don't accidentally disrupt
services to our clubhouse by pounding something into ground where we should
not (thank you Ray).

The scouts of troop 289 will be arriving around 3pm for an overview and
educational activity I'll be running at our clubhouse (thank you Sheldon).

The mayor of Harrison Twp, Lou Manzo, has been invited as an elected
official and says intends to stop by for a visit (thank you Brian and Bill).

Media publicity has been sent (thank you Cory).

If someone can volunteer and listen for and copy the W1AW Bulletin in
analog or digital mode, that would be most appreciated. First transmission
of the message is tonight (schedule is in the ARRL's field day packet).

If you're up for a real challenge, I've printed satellite fly over
schedules for active amateur radio birds, and will bring it with me if
anyone wants to take a crack at making an FM or inverting transponder
contact. Good luck!

I intend to stop by the field day site after work today to check on our
early setup, and other activities in the adjacent fields.
Most stations intend to setup Saturday morning.

Looks to be good weather.

Everyone from the club is invited and encouraged to come out.
We plan a group field day picture around 4pm. Meet-up near the information
table.

Hope to see you tomorrow!

Jim
