Dear GCARC members,
for the club meeting this Wednesday, our hospitality chairman will be out
of town.
As we've done in the past, please feel free to bring in food and (non
alcoholic) drinks (e.g. coffee, soda), plus cups, plates, napkins etc to
share with your fellow club members during our social time. Whatever is
left over, you have to take back home with you though, as we can't leave
stuff behind at the center.

We've* two VIP guest speakers* for the March 2 meeting!
Tom Gorman (ke2es) presentation will cover New Jersey State Police
(NJSP), Office of Emergency Management also called NJOEM and how it
interfaces with County and Municipal Government in times of disaster. He is
also expected to touch on how NJOEM coordinates with FEMA when the
President signs a disaster declaration, for example Superstorm Sandy.
Joining Tom will be Art Arnold, N2CPR from Cherry Hill and Deputy Radio
Officer and Emergency Coordinator for Camden County. Art will give an
overview of the importance of Preparing for Disasters, including ones' own
family. Art will also touch on his volunteer efforts over the past 10 years
with MS-150 and the importance of volunteering. We will also touch on
County RACES and its interface with NJOEM at NJSP Division Headquarters
(Call Sign NJ2EM) in West Trenton.

And don't forget to come out to the clubhouse *Saturday March 5 morning*!
The theme of this month's Tech Saturday at the Clubhouse forum will be a
hands-on class in how to install coaxial cable connectors. Bring your
coaxial cable and connectors and John will show you how to strip the coax
and solder them. Of course, the HF room and the rest of the clubhouse will
be open too. Bring a friend!

That's not all that's on the calendar for March.
