Jerry,

As a club member, you have access to the club e-mail reflector: GCARC at MAILMAN.QTH.NET. With this one e-mail address, you can send any club or ham radio related inquiry to all club members at once.

I am copying this message to all club members. So I am sure someone will be able to assist you with your problem.

Thanks

D. Jeffrey Garth

Jeff,

I am a new member of the GCARC. I attended my first meeting on July 6th in Williamstown. Just to let you know, I was impressed at the reception that I got from the members. They made me feel super welcome - I really felt that I belonged to the club for many years. When I explained to one of the members that I was having a problem understanding how to program repeaters into my handheld transceiver, he stepped right in and helped me. He referred me to another member who instructed me to use "chirp" to program my radio. I was able to load chirp onto my apple computer and get the New Jersey list of repeaters. However, I was not able to get the radio to respond to chirp. Unfortunately, I cannot remember to members name and therefore will not be able to ask him for further assistance.

I am new a ham radio and cannot fully understand the poorly written instructions in the manual. I know that one of the club members could help me and get me started so I can use my radio. I would greatly appreciate your help in finding a member to assist me. I will bring my radio and laptop computer at the August meeting.

Please respond to my email.

Sincerely,

Jerry Blachniak
