Here is the email describing the World Meeting of Families Special Event that I talked about last night at the General Membership Meeting. 

Anyone is free to sign up for a slot of time. And, as I mentioned, if there was interest, this is something that could be done from the Club Station.

This update is aimed at getting more folks to join in on the W3FRC/WMF and K2P special event activity commemorating the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia starting September at 0000Z on September 23 and ending at 0000Z September 28. Special calls will be used during the event. Stations manned by members of the PVRC will be on the air during this period using the calls K3P and N4P. Here in FRC territory, we will have stations using the call W3FRC/WMF in Pennsylvania and Delaware. In NJ, we will use the call K2P. This call will be shared by members of the Great South Bay ARC in the greater NYC area. There will be a special event station in South Philadelphia using the call W3P and also one in the Holmesburg section of the City using WM3PEN, the call sign of the Holmesburg ARC. 

In order to have this go smoothly, we need to coordinate our activities so that we accept and responsibly execute our operations during specific time slots, bands, modes and dates. This will be accomplished using a sign up sheet similar to one used to commemorate the W1AW/3 and W1AW/2 activities we were part of. To this end, Glenn, K3PP has established an interactive sign up sheet for W3FRC/WMF. Please navigate to the "sign up"page and enter your info into the appropriate boxes. Then, click on the tab at the bottom of the window titled "Schedule". Select the time and date slots you are interested in and type in your call sign under the band and mode you prefer. If there is a call already entered at that time/date/mode, select another slot. While we will strive to keep stations on the air for the full 5 days for 24/7, it is likely that we will not be able to do so. I urge you to sign up now and not wait till the last minute. That will ensure you get time slots that you desire and it will lower my anxiety level, as coordinator of this fun event. 

We really need more SNJ and NNJ members to join in. To date I have only received 2 offers in NJ to help. I have included a number of you fellows as addressees in this email. Please join in to help us make a success of this great opportunity to get some good publicity and commemorate a most worthy event.
