[GCARC] Icom IC-706MkIIG - Loss of memory channels?

I have an Icom IC-706MkIIG that has been in use in my vehicle since 2001.  Recently, I noticed that I can't get the memory channels for the various repeaters that I had in memory.  Seems to be just VFO-functional.  Is it possible that there's an internal battery that saves the memory that may have expired?  Any other thoughts?
