That's funny. I used to visit DFW several times a year for work before I
retired. When there I stopped in Texas Towers, also located in Plano. There
must be a strong local market for ham radio gear to support all 3. TT has
been in business for many years..

If anyone has wondered about the health of Ham Radio Outlet and the amateur
radio market in our current economic environment, then a good indicator just
popped up.  HRO will be opening a 13th store in Plano, TX.  Plans include a
serious distribution center.

Although not in their back yard, exactly, this will give the rapidly-growing
Main Trading ( www.mtcradio.com ) in Paris, TX some "local" competition.
Being located in the heart of 5-land fills in a hole in HRO's coverage map.
I guess the next time I'm traveling to the DFW area, I'll have to stop in.

Still, my favorite will be our nearby store in New Castle, DE...
