If all goes well, the DR-1 System Fusion repeater on 147.180 MHz that's been in service for several months, will be moved to replace our 442.100 MHz repeater - sometime tomorrow. The new DR-1X we recently obtained will then be put in service on 2M. This will give us analog FM and digital voice options on both.
Also, the DR-1 will be set to receive and transmit a CTCSS signal of 131.8 Hz, thus eliminating the difficulty some have experienced in hearing the current UHF repeater, unless they configured their transceivers for carrier squelch. Once again, tone squelch is recommended for analog users, so you don't hear the digital signals, when the repeater(s) are being used as such. A busy light or S-meter deflection will indicate when a repeater is in use.
The 1284.400 MHz repeater will still be on the air and will remain FM only, but will no longer be linked to UHF.
