GCARC members,
you are invited to participate in a radio location exercise for fun and
training on Sunday 3/8/14 starting at 1pm.

It is really quite fun and easy to do. Team up with your fellow hams and
use your hand-held 2 meter radios to try and find the transmitter by
homing-in on its signal.
The closer you get, the stronger the signal.

At 1pm, check in with me on the club's 2 meter repeater (147.180) so that I
know who is hunting.

Then I will turn on the hunt transmitter that operates on the nationally
recognized fox hunt simplex frequency 146.565 Mhz (FM) for you to find. It
will alternate between voice messages and silence, being on the air / off
the air every couple of minutes or so.

I will be monitoring our repeater, and the hunt simplex frequency during
the event.
If any teams are still hunting by 2pm, I will call out better clues to help
you narrow your search.
If any teams are still hunting by 2:30pm, we'll walk you in to the
transmitter's location.

Gloucester County is a big place. To help narrow your search area, here is
a big clue.
The transmitter will be in a public area east of route 55, south of an
imaginary west-east line that cuts through Pitman, west of an imaginary
line that cuts north-south through Williamstown, and north of an imaginary
west-east line that cuts through Malaga.

Spring forward! Have some radiosport fun with your club! Get out of the
shack for an hour or so this weekend!
Hope to see you in the hunt at 1pm tomorrow!
