While I am not a member of GCARC, I would like to share the following information with the members of this club.

Good day,

I am one of the two coordinators of the W1AW/2 (NJ) ARRL centennial celebration. Specifically, I am handling the week beginning 0000z on August 6. This is more of an activity week rather than a contest, whereby hams from all over the world attempt to contact each state and US territory for points and possible awards. There is no qsling required and logs are kept in .ADI format that are uploaded at the end of the week. This is a great opportunity for the seasoned contester and veteran operator as well as for the newer hams to experience what it is like to be on the end of a pileup, aka dx-pedition, from the comfort of their home stations or from a multi-operator station. It is not necessary to have big antennas or run high power. Just a desire to participate in a unique, once in a life-time experience in a non competitive environment.

August is 8 months away, but scheduling operators from across the state of NJ for a seven day event is a large undertaking. As such, I am asking all of the clubs throughout the state to publicize this event to their members. Sign ups for operating times and modes will be done on a spreadsheet on line by clicking on the link or going to n2mm1947 at gmail.com. I can also be reached at n2mm at comcast.net

We need lots of operators to make this event a succes
