If the Rig control is not working (DM780 will not connect to radio) it
sounds like the COM port setting are set correctly:

Verify the communications settings (baud, parity, stop bits, address, etc.)
are set correctly. Verify the cable is connected and the RIGblaster Pro
serial jumpers are set correctly. Make sure the radio menu settings are also
set for rig control and are set the same as the DM780 software.

Good Luck

Subject: [GCARC] Two Technical Questions

Good Afternoon Everyone,

1. I am new to PSK31 and am trying to set up my rig (ICOM-718) with my
RigBlaster Pro. I checked the jumpers, in the unit, plugged all the 3.5mm
plugs every which way into the computer and radio as directed by the manual,
I can hear the radio and all is as it should be, I think. I know which port
carries the RigBlast Driver (Com5) and configured the software accordingly.
But, I can not get the software, Ham Radio Deluxe, Windows 7 Version, to
initialize and recognize the radio. Each time I "Initialize," in the
configuration wizard, it goes through its protocol, even keys up the radio,
but makes no final connection and tells me the Frequency I am on is "0". Any
ideas of what I might be doing wrong here? I wrestled with it all night last
night.

2. I have an Astatic Microphone D-104 Silver Eagle and it is wired for a
Cobra Radio. I purchased an adapter wire for the 8 pin ICOM rig since Cobra
is 4 pin as you probably know. I switched out the 9 volt battery in the base
of the mic and still it will not key up the ICOM transceiver. Bad mic wiring
internally or did I miss something here?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

See you at the meeting tomorrow night at Pfeiffer.
