[FreeBay] The Freebay Concept

I swore I was not going to get in on this but I can no longer be silent.
I spent about $140, out of my pocket, to send copies of software to folks
around the country. I believe I mailed about 50 envelopes.
I asked to be reimbursed the cost of the envelope and the postage. I did
not even keep a list of who owed me.
To date, I am out of less than $10. A vast majority responded and returned
the cost.
I like the concept and will keep my faith in my fellow hams.
I'm not stupid, there are a few bums out there. I've met some of them at
hamfests (days of old), eBay and possibly here.
They are the few and not the many.

Clearly, Tony, you were ripped and shouldn't have been. My
experiences, though, with FreeBay participants has been good. In
fact, recipients of my "free" stuff have either provided prepaid
mailing labels or remitted the requested shipping expenses in advance.
Hope you next experience is considerably better.
