First, I want to say that I am sorry about the confusion regarding the posting guidelines for this list.  I had assumed that everyone would have the same concept as I had.  

Since I wouldn't normally ask someone to give me something for free, I had no idea that some folks would want to do this, but it appears that I was mistaken.  I see this eventually being taken to the extreme with someone asking for transportation, homes, etc.  Don't laugh, people have tried to sell real estate on the forsale-swap list just because it has a nice location for antennas.  And then the complaints will start being posted, which was followed by a bunch of complaints about the complainers, and on and on.

I want to mention that I had also thought this list was a good way for folks to give things to people that were in need of an item for their use.  Unfortunately, it appears that some folks here will take whatever is given to them purely to sell it.  This certainly is not the vision of this list either.

That being said, I believe that this list should proceed with the idea that if you have something to give away, go for it.  If you are asking, selling, or trading, we already have lists in place that can meet your needs.  

I will say that I'm sure that some folks won't agree with this policy, but I've found that it's pretty hard to make everyone happy, and I'm sorry if this doesn't suit you.
