I don't have an axe to grind either way.  The message I received that 
prompted me to join the list implied what several have stated.  Unfortunately I 
didn't save my own welcome aboard message beyond about 30 days.  But what about the 
welcome aboard message quoted from 2001?  Did someone change that sometime 
over the years and fail to post notification of it?
