I have two software manuals with software (on 5.25" and 3.5" diskettes)
if anyone is interested enough to pay shipping.
VP-planner is a spreadsheet, vintage 1985. I have the manual and
diskettes, version 1.0 for DOS. Published by Paperback Software; if you
recall this was Adam Osborne's answer to the high-priced software,
specifically 1-2-3 (and I can't recall the name of this guy who
eventually sued Osborne and won).
I didn't use this much, but it was OK until I eventually switched to MS
EXCEL (like everyone else?)
VP-INFO is a database program, very similar to dBASE III. I used it for
a long time for my contest logging and eventually switched (in 1997) to
dBASE - the program coding is almost identical. Also a Paperback
Software product but nobody sued about this one. Includes last known
upgrade from Sub-Rosa Publishing (Canada), version 4.24 with the last
known manual published in 1990.
I wouldn't suggest anyone think this software is of any value with
today's operating systems. But I hate to throw something away that might
be of interest to anyone. I hated the 1-2-3 spreadsheet guy and always
had a soft spot for Adam Osborne, in spite of his Executive 1 portable PC
attempt! I bought both of these in 1986 for $50 each.
Any takers for shipping?
