[FPARC] MINUTES OF FEBRUARY MEETING

                           FORT PIERCE AMATEUR RADIO CLUB - MINUTES - 2/09/2011
 
      The regular monthly meeting of the Fort Pierce Amateur Radio Club was chaired by President, Kevin Walker, W4KKW. Attendance was 20. Visitors were David Fowler, K4DLF, Jeff Beals, WA4AW, Harold Levy, N3UY, and Judith Levy.
 
      MINUTES: The minutes of the January meeting were approved as distributed, after motion by Steve, N4SGL, and seconded by Jacj, K4JAK.
 
      TREASURY: Treasurer Carl, KF4KCI’s report was approved as distributed after motion by Bob, KC0KAC, and seconded by Harry, KJ4SRY.

 
      Kevin, W4KKW, said that we still need 4 4 inch square 12 volt muffin fans for the repeater rack. John, W8RAT, said that he will purchase them at the Orlando Hamfest. 
 
      FPARC will host a lunch Saturday in the campground area at the Orlando Hamfest. Club talk-in for the Hamfest will be 444.800. Those interested in carpooling or caravanning to the Hamfest should meet at 6 AM Saturday in the WQCS parking lot.
 
      Carl, W7RCW, said that our club property insurance premium is due, $458.65. He said that we will need to check the equipment list for any new items that may need to be insured. 
 
      Steve, N4SGL, invited everyone to the St. Lucie Co. EOC ARES meeting the 3rd Wednesday of each month. He said that more ARES members are needed to staff shelters.
 
      Kevin, W4KKW, said that there will be a NWS Skywarn Training Session at our March meeting. He said that the meeting will start 30 minutes early at 7 PM. He said that we will have a short business meeting of about 15 minutes and that the Skywarn Training will start at 7:15 PM. 
 
       Ted, W4ZE, asked if our club would like to have the ARRL send lists newly licensed amateurs by e-mail. He reminded us that when we get new amateurs to join the ARRL, that we get some dollars. We said yes.
 
      David Fowler, K4DLF, our ARRL Section Manager, spoke. He told of upcoming Hamfests, March 12 in Palm Beach and March 19 in Stuart. David suggested that we each check our individual member profiles on the ARRL website and set our preferences.
 
      Ted, W4ZE, said that there are ARRL NTS HF net traffic handling opportunities for those interested.
