      FORT PIERCE AMATEUR RADIO CLUB - MINUTES -  4/14/2010
 
      The regular monthly meeting of the Fort Pierce Amateur Radio Club was chaired by President, Art Lindell, W4ZEF.  Attendance was 25. Visitors were Jeff Beals, WA4AW, and David Fowler, K4DLF.
 
      MINUTES & TREASURY:  The minutes of the March meeting and Carl, KF4KCI’s Treasury Report were approved as distributed, after motion by Kurt, W4KFH, and seconded by Bob, KCøKAC.
   
      Ted, W4ZE, said that he is stepping down as St. Lucie Co. ARRL Emergency Coordinator (EC) and will become ARRL South Florida Section Emergency Coordinator. He said Steve Lowman, N4SGL, will become County EC along with his duties as ARRL Section Club Coordinator. Congratulations to Ted and Steve.
 
      President Art, W4ZEF, discussed planning some presentations for upcoming meetings.
 
      Art, W4ZEF, mentioned that the Club set up at the Stuart Hamfest. He said that it was a nice Hamfest.
 
      We discussed getting new club shirts and hats in time for our Hamfest. Pete, KD4SPW, and Carl, KF4KCI, will meet with our original shirt supplier. We will need to change the color or shade to find shirts that have pockets.
 
      Art, W4ZEF, suggested we add a column to our club roster for birthday. Art, W4ZEF, said that it can be difficult to deal with the club Yahoo e-mail list for members that don’t use their call sign in their e-mail address. He said that it is impossible to verify some members e-mail addresses. He suggested everyone use an e-mail address that includes their call sign. 
 
      We discussed and Kurt, W4KFH, made a motion for Pete, KD4SPW, to spend up to $200 to purchase another batch of 500 pens printed with our club info. Jack, K4JAK, seconded the motion, and it passed.
 
      FIELD DAY: The club meeting for May will be held at the Field Day location, behind IRSC’s Public Safety Training Complex. Co-Chairmen for Field Day are John, W8RAT, and Pete, KD4SPW. We will hold an antenna work party at the old EOC Saturday, May 15, 2010.
 
      HAMFEST: Art, W4ZEF, said our most important need is to pursue vendors to out Hamfest. He said that Steve, N4SGL, and John, W8RAT, will talk to vendors as they travel to other hamfests. Art, W4ZEF, began a discussion about Hamfest prize expenditures. Kurt, W4KFH, made a motion to spend up to $750 for Hamfest prizes. Steve, N4SGL, seconded the motion and it passed. Art said that he wants the flyers ready to assemble and address at Field Day. Pete, KD4SPW, said that it might be good to print the forum info on the flyers or get the info posted on our website. Steve, N4SGL. We discussed having a separate website domain name for out Hamfest. We decided against that for now, as a Google search easily brings up our webpage Hamfest info. Art said that the PSLARA VE testers will help at our Hamfest test session.
 
      Kevin, W4KKW, said that long time club supporter Matt Snyder, W4OQP, became a silent key.
 
      We discussed the upcoming March of Dimes Walk-A-Thon at IRSC/FAU St. Lucie campus April 17th, 2010.
 
      Jeff Beals, WA4AW, Vice Director of the ARRL Southeast Division, and David Fowler, K4DLF, ARRL Section Training Officer spoke at the meeting .
      
      Kurt, W4KFH, said that PSLARA will hold Field Day this year at the Prima Vista Marina.
