      FORT PIERCE AMATEUR RADIO CLUB - MINUTES -  7/14/2010
 
      The regular monthly meeting of the Fort Pierce Amateur Radio Club was chaired by Vice President Keith Wood, W4RPE.  Attendance was 18. Visiting was Singh, AJ4VS.
 
      MINUTES: The minutes of the June meeting were approved as distributed, after motion by John, W8RAT, and seconded by Jack, K4JAK.
 
      TREASURY: Treasurer Carl, KF4KCI was absent, but passed along his report, which Kevin, W4KKW read to the group.  The report was approved as after motion by Steve, N4SGL, and seconded by Jenny, K4ZEF.
      
      FIELD DAY:  We had a Field Day discussion and everyone said we had a great time. John, W8RAT, gave run down of the event. He said we had no glitches, no damaged radios, and the antennas worked very well. The consensus was that the site worked out very well with the exception of gate access, which likely will not improve in the future. Joe, KD4BTD, said we might look into the IRSC off site facility known as Indian River Academy.
 
      HAMFEST: We discussed urgencies for the Hamfest, including forums, talk-in directions, mailing flyers, promoting to other clubs, re-arranging the cafeteria floor layout, making signs, etc. We decided to hold a special extra Hamfest meeting Wednesday, August 4, at 7 pm in the KSU cafeteria one week before our regular meeting. The regular club meeting Wednesday, August 11, will also be held in the KSU cafeteria. Friday Hamfest set-up will begin 5-6pm.
      
      Vice President Keith Wood, W4RPE, said that we need to open nominations for our friend Art, W4ZEF's successor as President. A motion was made by Steve, N4SGL, and seconded by John, W8RAT, to open nominations and hold an election at the September meeting, with the term to be the remainder of this year and next year.
 
      Kevin, W4KKW, said that Butch, KA2ELX, is now running the FPARC VE test sessions. Butch said that we had 3 testers last session.
 
      Jenny Lindell, K4ZEF, presented the club with a $250 check in memory of President Art Lindell, W4ZEF, from the St. Lucie Co. Health Dept. staff. Jenny said that in lieu of flowers, she requested donations to the Fort Pierce Amateur Radio Club.
 
      John, W8RAT, said that Bruce, W8HW, President of the Port St. Lucie Club, asked John to make a presentation to their club meeting September 22, 2010, about John's products and interests in amateur radio.
 
      Pete, KD4SPW, said that club shirts have been ordered and that he expects to get them delivered and embroidered in time for our Hamfest.
