             FORT PIERCE AMATEUR RADIO CLUB - MINUTES -  2/15/2007
 
      The regular monthly meeting of the Fort Pierce Amateur Radio Club was
chaired by President Art Lindell, W4ZEF. Attendance was 14. Visitors were TJ
and Ken, KI4TFE.
 
      MINUTES: The minutes of the January meeting were approved as
distributed, after motion by Kevin, W4KKW, and seconded by Paul, KG4MCE.
 
      TREASURY: Treasurer Carl, KF4KCI’s report was approved as distributed
after motion by Kevin, W4KKW, and seconded by Paul, KG4MCE.
 
      REPEATER:    President Lindell, W4ZEF, asked Kevin, W4KKW, and Ernie,
KF4IHX, if the IRLP / ECHOLINK tone problem will ever go away. Kevin said
that he will have to ask the IRLP experts about this concern.
 
      VE TESTING:  Art, W4ZEF, said that we had 9 people testing last
session. 
 
      ORLANDO HAMFEST:  Art, W4ZEF, said the Hamfest was really nice this
year. He told of the nice cook-out lunch provided by Carl, KF4KCI, and he
said he would like to see more club members participate in the future.
 
      COMPUTERS: Carl, KF4KCI, said they are ready to be picked up and taken
to storage.
 
      CLUB NET:  Art, W4ZEF, said that the Net Control Operators have been
doing a better job ensuring that all net participants sign out properly.
    
      CLUB ID CARDS: We discussed getting updated ID CARDS with photo and
REPEATER CODES on back. TJ said he could help with this project. 
 
      PACKET RADIO:  Art, W4ZEF, said that the new KPC-3 APRS TNC has
arrived. Wayne, KA1VRF, he hopes to install a 9600 baud PAKET backbone link
to Melbourne. Wayne said that he was elected to fill Bill, N4XEO’s position
as FADCA local district representative, at the Orlando Hamfest FADCA meeting
 Art thanked Wayne for the great work he has been doing on the local PAKET
NETWORK. 
      We discussed both the FADCA PAKET meeting and the FRC, FLORIDA
REPEATER COUNCIL, meeting, held at the Orlando Hamfest.
 
      D-STAR REPEATER:  Art, W4ZEF, briefly discussed D-STAR, DIGITAL
REPEATERS. He said he would like our club to lead the push to get D-STAR
REPEATERS on the air locally. 
 
      Art, W4ZEF, said that club membership dues are due. 
 
      Kevin, W4KKW, suggested we look at ways to update our club web site,
with one idea being to add a PAYPAL link for paying dues. 
 
      FIELD DAY:  Our FIELD FDAY Chairmen Paul, KG4MCE, and Ernie, KF4IHX,
took the floor for the rest of the meeting.
