First of all I would like to thank everyone for the support and the faith
that everyone

Has put in me and my ability in building and installation of the packet
system at the

St Lucie County EOC. I am still in the construction stage of the system but
we are getting very close

To being ready to move the system to it's permanent home at EOC. I will need
some assistance in getting

The rack ready for the radios and tncs as well the computer. I will send out
a request for help within the

Next month.

I brought up during the net this past week and Art asked me to post the
information for access to the

Packet system on this forum so here it goes:

St Lucie County Packet System

            Local access frequency: 145.530 simplex

The system is currently located in my shack which is on the very
southeast end of Indian River County

About 1.5 miles west of US-1 and a block north of the county
line. Antenna being used for the LAN is

A GP-9 located on top of a 40 foot tower. Output power of the
Yaseu FT-2500 is 25 watts. The radio

Will be upgraded to a Tait radio shortly.

Available networks (all available on 145.53):

W4SLC-8: LAN (local area network) Node

W4SLC-1 Direct access to the BBS

                        W4SLC-10 Direct access to Winlink

W4SLC-6 Digi which is located at the SLCEOC. I set
this up to increase the coverage of the system for those

Who can not get into it direct due
to the height (or lack there of) here at my qth.

Now for some basic instructions so that you can gain access to the system
and what you are able to do once there.

The best way to have access to the node, bbs, Winlink, Sedan etc. is to go
to the node by doing either of the following:

C W4SLC-8 or for those who cannot hit it direct, go through
the digi by doing: C W4SLC-8 V W4SLC-6

Once into the node you will receive the welcome message and the command
string. To see a list of commands send the: ? command.

If you want to access the BBS from the node simply type BBS and then hit the
enter key. This will bring you to the BBS.

If you want to access the Winlink area from the node simply type TELP and
then hit enter key. If you have any messages at your winlink email address
they

Will be listed here and you may also be able to receive and send emails. The
instructions are contained in the welcome to Winlink screen.(More info to
follow)

If you use the PAR command from the node this will directly link you to
F6BVP-10 in Paris France and if you type CLU at his node command prompt this

Will put you to the DXClusters. (I am hoping to have direct access to a
DXCluster from our node shortly. You can also connect to other packeteers
throughout

The world i.e.: Australia

There are many more features available in the system but I will stop here
and pick it up again in a following email in a few weeks. I

Just would like you to digest and play around with the system with the above
commands. I would like to ask you to use the system and put

It through it's paces. You cannot hurt or break the system. Yes, we could
experience some technical situations but these situations will not be

Caused by you, the user.

If anyone has any difficulties or questions, please use the forum so that
others can learn with you. Remember if you have a question

Someone has the same question and there are no stupid or dumb questions so
ask away and if I do not know the answer, I will find it out

And get back to everyone with the answer.

Have fun and happy packeting.

Wayne
