OLD BUSINES

REPEATER: President Art Lindell, W4ZEF, asked for news about our 2-meter repeater. Carl, KF4KCI, said he asked Howard of S & S Towers to put us on their schedule to have the 2-meter hard-line replaced, since at our last meeting some members decided to get together and front the cost to the club for the hard-line install until reimbursed by insurance. Mel, W4DAQ, said it would not be long until the climb since the other IRCC work is ready.

IRLP: Art, W4ZEF, asked for an update about IRLP and ECHOLINK. Kevin, W4KKW, said that Kurt Ellmers has programmed the radios and is making hook-up cables. He also said we got an OK to install an antenna at IRCC outside the repeater room. Kevin said the ECHOLINK is running at his house on the 440 repeater, when he is home. We discussed some about which link should be on which repeater.

HAMFEST: Art, W4ZEF, said we will put off Hamfests assignments until next month since attendance is low this meeting. He did say that Erin, KG4YQK, the new President of the Port St. Lucie Club, told him that some of the PSLARA members have offered to help at our Hamlets. Art said great, but since our Hamlets is so small, there is not enough proceeds to share with them. We did have a discussion about raising Hamlets prices effective this year. Mel, W4DAQ, made a motion to increase prices by $2.00. This makes admission $4.00, tables without electric $7.00, and tables with electric $10.00. Cheryl, N9SRO, seconded the motion and it passed.

FIELD DAY: Art, W4ZEF, asked for volunteers to be station captains. Keith, W4RPE, FIELD DAY Chairman took notes. Paul, KG4MCE, agreed to be C0-Chairman again this year. Station captains will be Bill, N4XEO, Mel, W4DAQ, Sully, WA2TSM, and Paul, KG4MCE. Sully offered a TV antenna rotator if needed. We discussed the club possibly acquiring a rotor in the future.

ARRL INSURANCE: Art, asked Pete, KD4SPW, about the status of our ARRL insurance claim. Pete said he has faxed him all the present paper work but has not been able to get them on the phone yet.

NEW BUSINESS

DUES: President Art, W4ZEF, started a discussion about the price of yearly membership dues. He said he would like them increased. The consensus seemed to agree on a raise from $15.00 to$20.00 per year, with $25.00 for family memberships, effective for year 2006. Art said he would like more members to decide this subject than are here tonight. He asked the net control to mention it on upcoming nets. Pete, KD4SPW, said he would send an e-mail to the club list about the proposed changes to be voted on next meeting. We also discussed when members should be dropped from the roster as inactive. We also discussed cost to prepay dues for more than one year. If we sell memberships at the Hamfest, they will be $20.00, but include the remainder of 2005 and 2006.

We discussed liking our two repeaters together and with other repeaters.

Art, W4ZEF, told about the last club test session.

Cheryl, N9SRO, agreed to be ready to pick up the net on the 3rd Tuesdays in case Ladd, W2KGV, isn't able to make it. Kevin, W4KKW, runs the net on the 4th Tuesdays. We had a discussion about nets and linking nets with other repeaters so handhelds and weak stations could participate more.

President Art, W4ZEF, closed the meeting at 20:32 hours after motion by Cheryl, N9SRO, seconded by Mel, W4DAQ.

ATTENDANCE: KD4SPW, W4RPE, KD4BTD, N9SO, W4KKW, W4DAQ,

KG4MCE, WA2TSM, WB4NOZ, WB2IIV,KC4GXF, KF4KCI.
