Hi All
I'm at this time going through the roster of the club and comparing who is
on the email list and who is paid up in their dues.
We have several people on the list that haven't paid dues since 2002. At
the last meeting I was asked to purge all people from the list that aren't
current members so this is what I'm doing at this time.
We are going to be sending out the minutes of the monthly meeting every
month when Pete KD4SPW gets them done and we only want that going to members.
I also see at least one email address that is on the list that isn't in the
roster. This will also be removed. All of this is being done to keep a
clean secure list (as best it can be done) for our members. Remember that
this is a closed list and anyone that wants to get on it has to be approved.
Last week at the QTH mail server they had a melt down and all lists needed
to be reconstructed from scratch for the most part. Since they had to work
from a backup they decided to update the mailman program. This has added
several features to each list. One of the things that has been added was to
make it possible to add your name to your registration.
Every month you get a reminder of your passwords for all the lists that you
are on in the QTH system. If you are on more than just the FPARC list I
would ask you to please go to
http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/fparc and read the page and at the
bottom of the page sign in at the Unsubscribe or Edit link and go in and
edit your listing.
You will see a space to the right that says "Your Name" Please type in your
first name and your callsign. This will allow everyone that looks at the
member page to know who is who with the people that don't use their name or
callsign in their email address.
You might also want to scroll down the page and check the options that you
have for the list and make any changes you would like.
Think about it .....
A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?
Thank You,
