The Valley of the Moon Amateur Radio Club is hosting our annual Hamfest
in Sonoma, CA Saturday, April 25.

There will be a beginner's walking foxhunt. Two two meter fox
transmitters will be hidden within 100 meters of the building. Antennas,
attenuators and such will be available for loan, but please bring a two
meter HT.

The foxes are homebrew.
One uses the CMOS controller from the book Transmitter Hunting, by K0OV
and WB6UZZ, driving a crystal controlled transmitter board from a '70s
ARRL Handbook. 1 or 1/8 watt.
The other uses a TTL crystal oscillator with a harmonic falling in the
two meter band. The oscillator's power is modulated by a voice keyer,
re-purposed from a talking greeting card. <10mW.

Additionally, there will be:

  * a pancake breakfast, with eggs and sausage (the club's annual fund
    raiser)
  * a Swap Meet with all kinds of new and used amateur radio equipment
  * a VE session where prospective hams can earn their license or
    current hams can upgrade
  * various Ham Rdio demonstrations.

Come join the fun!
