Fox Hunt Questions:
 From Mike at W8DER.Net

When we have fox hunts: We mostly use Arduino controlled foxboxes, or
Byonics.com controllers into HTs or Byonics.com micro-foxes. (15mw). We
have found that digital tone sequences are must easier to track than
someone talking into an HT. Car foxes are used about a quarter of the
time. We usually have from 4 to 25 hunters in groups of at least two
hunters. We have been hunting under the MichiganFoxHunters.com banner
for at least 5 years. We have found that participants generally come
from more than one local club. We hold either one or two per month from
April through October. (Often an evening hunt and a Saturday hunt.)
The winner is the team that: Finds the fox with the lowest odometer
mileage within the specified time limit (usually 2 hours.) Mileage
works best for us because of the competitive nature of the hunters and
the dangers of an automobile accident.

As far as hiding a transmitter in a boat and floating it down the river,
my advice is to keep the hunt simple. Two Meter hunts are hard enough
as it is. If you want to have a difficult hunt, be sure you say so in
your invitations. Otherwise you loose new hunters and they never come
back. Also, always meet somewhere afterwards, like at McDonalds, to
tell stories and build camaraderie.
