The Canadians still operate one in Gander, Newfoundland.  Google Earth to:

When in the USAF (65-69)our organization, the Air Force Communications
Service, maintained a UHF
DF system.  I believe it the AN/GRD-6.  The RX was a GRC-27, but cannot
remember the nomenclature
of the rest of the system.  The freq range was 225.0 to 399.9, so the
antennas were quite small,
unlike the Wullenweber ;>)

I also spent some time in VO2, Goose Bay to be exact while in the USAF
working with the RCAF to
keep an eye on the Russkis.  Saw lots of them on the FPN-47 radar.
